Two new providers and a new supplier join Birmingham 2022 at a critical time, less than eight months away from the start of the games, as the eyes of the world look ahead to the new year and the preparations being made for an incredible showcase of sport, culture and creativity across the region.

Managing Director of MTD Group, Hans Verhoeven expressed his excitement: “We are proud to be awarded as an Official Temporary Water Infrastructure Provider for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. It is an honour for all our employees to contribute towards the success of the Games and to share our knowledge with local employees on how to supply safe drinking water to all temporary venues. For MTD, sharing knowledge will be our legacy, and this is embedded in our DNA. Secondly, we are very happy that we can help Birmingham 2022 with their sustainability objectives. We will demonstrate our sustainable water initiatives, including our real-time monitoring and digital data management with the Commonwealth community. It is our global purpose, to create a better future with sustainable water use.”

Named as the Official Broadcast Lighting Provider, SLX will provide more than 2,000 LED fixtures to a wide variety of sports over the course of two weeks, at a number of venues at the Games.

The contract has also helped us steer our social values and sustainability agenda, which is really driving change within our business. We are very much looking forward to working as a key partner to the Games and contributing to the legacy of Birmingham 2022 not only by delivering the broadcast lighting solution but also by supporting business and creating employment opportunities in Birmingham and beyond.”
